Hi am looking at amg 55 e class estate to replace my e 430 ag estate what are weak points on2004 model has mb history thanks

Charge cooler pump-£200 ish for the part then add labour to fit.
Secondary Air Injection pump-£400 ish then labour
Can suffer electrical problems.

Can't think of much else on them really?, the engine and box are pretty solid.

i'm also interested in the E55 estate and an advanced search has not been any use.Can someone who has one post 2004 let me have their views on ownership generally plus fuel consumption road tax insurance etc?

I would have thought you biggest enemy is the VALEO radiator issue....

Just go to SEARCH > ADVANCED SEARCH and type in just E55 in the search string...

Then open the results into new tabs respectively...

Power monster sums performance but DO NOT watch fuel guage up to 25mpg norm on french motorways 28/30 if you boot it about 12mpg just enjoy performance

fuel - between 16-30 depending on how you drive
known problems - <2004 the valeo issue, late 2004 plus and you should be ok
- air shocks can leak
- supercharger clutch can start getting sticky and squeek

problems ive had
- supercharger pump needed replacing
- oil cooler leaked - replaced
- keyless handle stopped opening door - replaced
- passenger mirror wiring - whole assembly replaced
- TPMS - all sensors and control module replaced
