Car
hers - slk 320, his - dull diesel BMW fleet :/, Xtrail, Honda CBR 1100xx, Yamaha YZF600, Ribble Road
Have just been down to my MB dealers for two things - wanted them to look at the Diamond Drite - didn't seem to be doing what it said on the tin and also at my alloys - which have started to pit on the front ones.

Fantastic service - although they are sure the DB was put on - they're having the car back - will give me an SLK in exchange and redo the treatment. The alloys - a warranty claim to be lodged with MB and four new alloys to come my way :D :bannana: although they will be re-furbs - but I gather these are better than the original finish anyway :bannana:

I didn't have to pout or stamp my feet - all was instantly forthcoming. So MB Harrogate get the thumbs up from me.

SLK loan car?

Coffee?
pics?
room 25?
bickies?
curtious parking?
dry weather?
day out of the office maybe? :D :D

you know it makes sense :D :D

It might make sense - but not gonna happen just yet ;) will let you know when I'm back your way ;)

btw - the room was supposed to be a secret  ;)

MB Harrogate is about 18 miles from me. I would rather go there for my service than risk my local.

Anyway seen the dealership and been inside. The experience was in contrast to what i am used to at Mb dealers. I may buy my next Mbz from them.....but they are tight on discounts...maybe they can get away with list prices in Harrogate.

The staff are friendly and are helpfull and that what Mbz service should be about.

Depending what you want and how keen you are to stick with a main MB Dealer - have you thought about Green Hammerton Motors on the A59? They've smartened themselves up considerabley - don't know what their service is like though, but they no longer sell the old and cheapies - but the newer and smarter and offer independent service.

And how's this for quality service. Just had a phone call to say the new wheels are in, not bad - three days! They'll fit them when the car goes in for the DB on 30 July to save me having to go down twice. They are stars of the multi pointed variety as well as three :D

If its testimonials youre after Adam1, add me to the list. I live 25ish miles away and dont mind going past my "local" MB dealer to get there. Discounts? I managed 3.5%/4.0% ish this time last year and I dont think that had anything to do with being a Shipley lad. They gave me well over book on an old Ford Ka. I believe they have a new SM now and he allways, as Pammy says, rings you up and keeps his promises.

portzy... A fellow bradfordian lad, eh.

Once i've sorted my wheels then i will get service from Harrogate, will happily drive past DerWents no problem.

Just a thought anyone tried exhaust MODS on exhaust yet on the w211, or a boot spoiler....just trying to spice the E Class up a bit....What do you think of the Cl type grill

Pammy,

For now i think the Main stealers will have to do...need the stamps..car not past 2 yrs yet and has very low mileage......not so long ago was thinking of getting rid...still do now and again.....I come from excellent service from Honda, Lexus to this...so it kinda makes you think....... but love the car...so does everyone else...probably more than me...people persuade me to keep it.

adam1, yep, regular visitor to Pie Ivans in John Street market and the Star on Westgate ;)
PS Youve got to keep your MB and say hello to Harrogate :D

Just got the car back after it's retreatment and new alloys - looks fanbl**dingtastic :bannana: :D :bannana:

Super service. I love my dealership :D

Will be going there myself at the weekend for a SBC update.

I will also ask about alloys.....did you get all 4 replaced?.....the other dealer is still messing around and i think they can be replaced under warranty, and besides dealers make money on warranty replacements so...the work should go to ones who deserve it not the dishonest ones.

I pass 3 Mbdealerships to go to this one and that shows how confident I am of this dealership in Harrogate. It will be the first time I have any work done at a second MB garage...so fingers crossed...

...

yup - was only expecting the two but looks like they've all been done - unless they've rebalanced them all ;)

Just returned from a visit to Harrogate.

Excellent service, very friendly staff. Waited only 45 mins for a air flow filter change and alloys check. Compared to other dealer that took 2 days to sort an error(which still persists now and then)message and 4 weeks to book car in.

These guys are highly recommended and i would rather travel 20 plus miles past 3 other MB dealers to see these guys.

All 4 wheels may be replaced under warranty with no questions asked. I don't think they would believe about the scenario of the other wheels but for whats it worth i have to accept that some wrongs can't be fixed or aren't worth the agro. Even after photo evidence the dealership is insisting that nothing happened and MB HO is supporting them. So if you do takle your car in to any Derwent branch i would make sure you check the car for scratches, dents etc before and after you collect the car. Note the mileage down and confirm with service manager. THE MOST important thing is DONT leave the Your Wheels Key in your boot unless you are having the alloys changed...that was my mistake..I'm a trusting kind of guy...but not anymore with some dealers.

Mmnnn, do the beneficial snippets of information from Pammy and myself (regular and enthusiastic users of MB Harrogate) qualify for a free pint of Guinness, or Stella, in the 'Harp of Erin' at the back of Westgate, BD1, I wonder ;)

OK Portzy i owe you drink maybe at the next GTG. Not a visitor at the pub you mention...in fact i choose not to drink so i'lll have have to be wacked out with a glass of lemonade....just don't spike it with vodca.

:D :D :D OK then, see you at the GTG. Only kidding about the 'Harp' :p . Now Pie Ivans, thats a different matter 'mint sauce with that, sir?' :D
