MB hourly rate?

Out of interest, who do you use?

Either Bruce over at mbautocentre in Dereham, or my father in laws place.

I prefer my father in laws place as he does me an invoice and I give him that in credit to spend on footwear and clothing. ;)

But Bruce is great, knows his onions, nice guy and really good prices. Plus he is a proper old school style (he is young btw) guy in that he wants to diagnose and fix rather than the usual "that is giving an error let's start swapping parts till it is sorted' attitude that you get these days.

Is it from Eurocarparts £120 a pair?

You need to call them and ask for their best trade price, make up a garage name if you have to. They tend to drop a lot.

Cheers matey, didn't know of him.

Labour rate at the Merc/Jag/BMW/Rolls/Porsche dealer here is €84/hour, incl 20% tax.

At current exchange rates, that's £58.33 per hour. Not bad at all.

Now for the bad news .... cost of parts is extortionate over here. I paid €137 for a single replacement Xenon headlight bulb ...... that's £95+

A STAR diagnostic is the same as one hour's labour so not too bad.

Price of 98 octane has shot up, too, to £1.03/litre.

Who cares
You get to live in south west France :D

Even cheaper labour rate in Spanish Mercedes workshop where I go in Murcia. €42.00 per hour less 20% discount plus 21% tax and you keep your Mercedes guarantee and breakdown recovery. Last year on my old CLK 320CDI I paid €295 for a B service

Excellent info! The MB dealerships in the generally UK charge more per hour than my local solicitor does per hour! My recent B-Service supposedly cost £760 (were it not on a service plan), which was almost double the conveyancing fee my solicitor charged me for the purchased of my property! This cannot be right in my opinion.

I can confirm swattys post re French MB rates.
Whilst on a driving holiday a month ago a rear brake line failed on my S211 yes with SBC.

The car was taken to Strasbourg MB dealer and repaired with two new rear brake pipes the flixibles and new fluid throughout all for 861 euros and the stated euro rate was 84. Worth taking it there for a service!

To be fair the MB dealership together with other car brand dealerships has higher overheads due to the amount of specialist equipment they have.

The MB dealer I compared with the lot in south London - is 100 pounds less on an 'A' service. This delaer is an approved main delar and their showroom, is as good inc seating areas for while you wait - you cannot tell the difference other than a big differen EGm about 245 vs 345 - that is 33% difference
