So my W212 estate e350 is under service plan so I have MB mobilo/ roadside. I also have AA with home start privately. Is AA a waste of money? Should I cancel it and just use the MB recovery service?

Historically I’ve only used AA for battery failure and punctures due to pot holes

What’s the difference between the two?

Thanks!

From memory a puncture would require a call out fee with Mobilo if outside of the “new car” manufacturers warranty period. Mobilo will only recover you to a main dealer too.

Mobilo Pros:

Mobilo will give you the option of waiting for a tech equipped with MB STAR, who can carry out diagnostic, which the dealer would have charged for (but obviously this will only work if the car is undriveable, otherwise Mobilo won't come out).

Mobilo Cons:

The Mobilo recovery service will take the car only to MB dealers, not so great when you want the car taken to your local indie for repairs instead of the dealer.

So you guys have separate Aa/RAC then?

Personally, I had Mobilo while I had the W204, though I never needed a call out.
