I'm looking to buy one of these, but which one will work with my W204 2012 C220?

If you want use newest software, c4. C3 does not support them, plus it is little uncertain if it can communicate with 2012 car properly. Problems with c4 is that again older cars (need of HHTWin) may be problematic if you want help someone with W202 etc, though people have been successfully installed HHTWin with those hardware too.
Many of C4 clones (I assume you are not after genuine one?) have been very crappy quality, and trouble to find good seller (installation/setup support).

You are going to need Xentry. DAS/Star does not support W204 facelifted cars.

Some confusion here I think. A PartD (C3) tool should work with a facelift W204 with correct computer SW but the SDconnect (C4) would be a more future proof tool. Just have to avoid the cheap, crap HW that is called C4 too but is a PartD clone (the flat box without any display).

SDconnect can do HHT fine. Latest XDOS SW just isn't always the best choice, depends on the hardware. XDOS on a 32 bit OS can be fixed to support HHT but no fix for a 64 bit OS.

Xentry diagnosis software comes equally on a WIN XP based Star Diagnosis set as with XDOS.
