Evening all, just a quickie, im new to all this MB marlarky but i really have to say that im well and truly hooked, ive only owned my 260e for about a week now but i have nothing but praise for it, anyway enough of the waffling ill be buggered if i can find any performance stats for my benz if anyone has any sort of clue then i'd be very appreciative, cheers

Welcome to the Forum :D

I'm not too sure about the stats for a 260E but I'm sure someone will come along soon and illuminate us :)

What year is your 260E? More importantly do you have any pictures that can be posted in the gallery?

S.

hey steve, no i havent got any pics just yet its a bit of a fixer upper opportunity but im making headway, in reply to your other question its an 87 4matic in metallic burgandy or something like that but i love it!

ooh 4-Matic, a rare beast indeed. How do you find the 4WD handling? Infact I didn't realise the 260E came with 4-Matic, I thought it was an option reserved only for the 300E, learn something new every day. :o

I have a very soft spot for the W124's, my dad still drives a mint (as in condition, colour is metallic silver) 1987 200, he's had it since it was a 3 year old. Great cars, solidly built.

hehe I had one of those things as well! Cost the earth to run, what with all the repair bills every week.Ended up getting shut of it after 6 months, lost loads on it but saved a packet by not haveing to shell out any more money for repairs.

Aint they orrible cars mate?. I went through three front driveshafts in 6 months!!!!! And the exhaust was allways giving me probs. Horrible cars. On the other hand, I had an XR4i before the 4X4 and that was awsome. Very very quick, mind you it had had its engine extensivley played with :D Why i ever got rid of it for the 4X4 il never know :(

Guess who else has a 260E :D Goes like a train and I dont mean chuff chuff either before some of you more uncolour concious people get a dig in. 4 matic eh? Interesting. I would like to see that beast close up. Doubt if you would get the magic 135mph though. I pull a 0 - 60 less time than has been posted. But..........Bigbenz260 welcome aboard. Please take no notice of those boring shiney grey / dull chrome people. The best peeps here have cars with color :bannana: :bannana: That right Mr Kinky?

morning everyone, im sorry to dissapoint you all but ive since found out that its not the 4matic that the guy selling it said it was but hey i still cant fault it, i called him and he said that the add should have said 4 speed automatic but i guess im the numpty for not realising oh well, i think im going to have another crack at the rust today see y'all later

i have the original owners manual for my 88 w107 300SL, at the back loads of info as per provided by apial for the 260, but nowhere does it mention what BHP it pulls, is there anyway of finding this out, or calculating it from the data it does provide?

To convert from KW to BHP, multiply by 1.341. 122KW=164bhp

Another W124 fan in the clan!

:bannana:

Great cars aren't they, built like a tank and go like stink  - I love 'em too.
