Hi All

Does anyone know the MB warranty on a 2002 C32. I've noticed rust on the rear wheel arch and wondered if its still covered.

Thanks

I've spoken to an independent body shop and before they have even seen the car they say in involves replacing the panels is this true?

In short, it implies that the car needs to be <8 years old.
Would it be safe to say that if the OPs car was less than 8 years old it would be repaired without question?

I have rang MB of Sheffield body shop and they have stated the goodwill repair contribution, but I'd have to wait because I've only owned the car 6 weeks.

If you call MB directly you will get different story, especially if it was not serviced at MB in the last two years.

Well the news is in and its the front passenger seat controls.

Time to see if this RAC warrantee is now any good

First time I have heard that front seat controls cause rusty rear wheel arches!

Are you posting this in the wrong thread?

You will need to have owned the car for atleast 6 months i think, before MB will even consider looking at the rust

Didn't I read somewhere there was a 30 year rust warranty?...whats with the 8 years?

The 30 years warranty is only available to "somebody else" the clear and unambiguos wording is in fact mythical legend, the rust has to start from some indefinable place called the "inside" and must then come "out" its a bit like the Bible really, MB massage the words to suit their arguments just like the various Churches do.

The confusion lies between anti-perforation and rust.

Most manufacturers offer the former, but AFAIK none are for anything like 30 years.
