For us first timers who've not been to MB world, is the main facility open to wander round?

Yes

(and is there an entrance fee etc?)

For us first timers who've not been to MB world, is the main facility open to wander round?

I might make a longer day of it and once I've met a few and chatted etc is there more to do there (and is there an entrance fee etc?)

Entry is free and you can drive round the circuit in your fave AMG for a fee (check the website) otherwise just spend the time watching others driving round, or look at all the cars, sit in some, talk to the sales people, eat and drink in the cafe and when you get bored, nip over the road to the Brooklands Museum and look at old racing cars and planes
