Car
An SLK R171 with lots of toys and a Golf Plus for fishing.
You'll know my dream car has had, shall we say, the odd gremlin like command shutting down, a couple of dash warnings, water leak in the boot, misaligned boot lid, noisy and erratic fan/s?.

Well, I had my visit yesterday to MB Harrogate and, quite unexpectedly, I was met by the SM who spent a good twenty minutes with me going into detail about my problems. She (car) went into the workshop for a couple of hours then the foreman came out and spent another twent or thirty minutes with me and her explaining all about STAR, CAN BUSES, operators, fault codes, software downloads, etc.

The upshot is my car is fixed (via a mixture of the above) as far as was possible yesterday but needs a new radiator/ac fan to be on the safe side (£500 if I was paying  ) and a boot seal as the old one has a slight nick in it both of which are a piece of cake to fit and they will be here next week.

Talk about relief and, if I'm not mistaken, Tina Turners legs look a whole lot better on Comand now!

Dave, they looked ok to me when I saw them at the last GTG :D Do you now mean that you get to see them in Hi Res? :D :D

By the way good news on the car, its beautiful, just needs slight alteration to the colour scheme or lack of colour

Always good to hear about positive feedback where dealers are concerned. :)

I think this post maybe better suited to the "Mercedes specialists across the UK" Section. Moving...

they havelooked after me too. much better them 2 dealers closer i must add..namely one on thornton road and the other on denby dale road!!!

Well watch this space - coz they had Edna in to look at the roof while I was in Rome and now her boot is dripping with what seems to be condensation.

Just got to find time to drop her in :(

I find that by mentioning that i had emailed to the address below, they made a real effort. unlike the MB dealer at wakefield. who were unable to noticed that even their email address doesn't work. and they forgot to appologise for being rubbish and left it to the below people to ring me and apologise on behalf of them.

but once i had filled in the paperwork for the customer quality feeback questionaire, in which i vented factually with evidence including copies of emails from below, MB of wakefield were eager to ring me to investigate why they had not been of satisfactory service. i questioned why it took the result of a survey to start this investigation, why did they not do thier own, and why i had to ring MB of Harrogate to find out what i should expect. seems the guy who rang me was unable to offer anything other than "we take all cusomer complaints serioulsy"

maybe, but you need to act on them. if you want to satisify people, do whatever it takes to make them feel satisfied. it is that simple.

Either that or my eysights suddenly come a whole lot better and I cannot 'see' that happening somehow Ian, my kinda girl though its got to be said, oh!, an' Kat Slater too! ;) .

Colour?, yep, I know, I'm soooo predictable but its the mileometer that I'm concentrating on altering. To something above 1000 so I can exercise my right foot properly

Steve Thanks for moving it for me, I knew I'd got it wrong the minute I did it but I had one of my 'gaffers' hovering round at the time so I ended up rushing my post

Well took Edna in to MB Harrogate jus now to let them know about the boots in built shower. After a bit of haggling and almost Mrs Angry Pammy coming out - Edna is going in on Monday and I'm getting the Sales Manager's car for a couple of days while they sort it.

Started with the Service guy saying they were overbooked and wouldn't be able to look at her until Thursday next week and even then that would be optimistic, but that he didn't have a hire car until 22nd at the very earliest. Not good enough said I as I'm away in Lytham next Wednesday - Friday.

Long story short - I needed to understand that they were overbooked what their policies were etc etc - no I don't said I - your problem not mine. I have a car that since you looked at it and fixed it has developed a serious problem which means I can't use the car in the way I should be able to - ie carry laptops and projectors etc around in the boot.

I pointed out how they were not meeting their customer service commitment etc etc at this point and how I had stringly defended MB in CS terms and highly recommended Harrogate MB yet this experience was less than satisfactory. Stuart the guy who cold me Edna came out and basically told the service guy that my car needs sorting and immediately and that I will havea car in it's place while it's being sorted. So I'm getting his car at 6.30am on Monday at the mo until tuesday afternoon - biut if Edna's not fixed then watch this space!.

Now that is what customer service is about. Understanding the customer's problem, not trying to pass on MBs problem.
