Mechanic in Bath or Bristol

Hi guys,

I am quite new to the forum and to the Mercedes world. I have a C200 Kompressor, which broke down last week. It does look like it is the starter motor, so all I would need is a Mercedes specialist. Does any of you know a reliable person in Bath or around Bristol?

You could try Tallis of Bath. The guys set up (as many did) after "the great reorganisation".

They know their stuff and will talk turkey on prices.

Others may know other places, it's a while since I lived in Bath.

As I said I'm a bit out of touch. Did you ask them if they could recommend anyone? iirc a couple of the main dealer (which is where they were from) techies also set up on their own.

Yep. That was my next question. They did recommend the Mercedes Garage in Bristol Already talking to them, but was hoping to find somebody local who could help.

Just to let eveyone know Tallis only sell cars. No workshop facilities.

Odd thing is I am sure I have read in several places they did repairs/servicing.

I think they used to do servicing/repairs. They set up as independents when, after many years as the main dealer, they were denied the MB franchise.

I had thought they took several of the techs with them, maybe not, or maybe they've just changed their business model.

As main dealers they were very good. Suppose that's why they lost the franchise

Booked it in with Mercedes Bath - they have always looked after me pretty well to be fair.

I did use Avantgarde in Bristol once ... he was a nice guy and didnt charge much for an inspection. Just quite a trek from me though.
