Guys can anyone recommend/stayed in nice French medieval villages, looking for the real preserved in time wooden beemed houses, shops and Church villages, the net seems to suggest Noyers as a good choice, would have to have a few things to do and visit for a small family. Going to drive down in the Merc and hopefully stop at a few places en route. Thanks

Far too many of them to list, Vezelay is very close to Noyers as is Fontenay. In Alsace, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr (an astonishingly preserved late mediaeval town with complete walls), Turckheim, Colmar (city rather than village), Saint Emilion in Bordeaux, among numerous others.

Dinan in Britanny is a pretty little town and worth a visit. Not far from Cherbourg if you're getting the Ferry across la Manche.

Cheers,

Gaz

Les baux de Provence not far from the Pont du Gard too.

Daz

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is breathtaking....
