Merc 124 Estate

There's no history with the car and the engine bay looks as though the car has covered a far higher mileage (it looks worse than mine which has reached 211k and still counting), so if anyone is interested I think it would pay to have the car properly checked over.

Plus, it's been for sale for a little while in the local Trade It.

Just my thoughts.

Saying all that I see someone has made a bid.

Just right for the Munsters though.

Thanks for the info re trade it, I thought the same looking at the engine pics some things sound to good to be true.
If there is no history buying is a lottery.

I would consider buying the right 124 but findinga clean one is difficult, many moons ago I did have a 3L 24 valve metallic green estate which was great fun as it had pnuematic leather seats but the MPG was horrible but I found the body materials superior to the latter 210.

Quote from the ad.....

'it has been owned from new by well know respected funeral services.

The fold away seats in the boot make this car incredibly versatile as a people carrier, or huge load lugger.'

:)

God how I hate it when people use the word "stunning" in car ads. I stop reading the instant I see that word.

It's a (basic spec) 12 year old W124 TE (with rusty wings & a defective IR system), a fine car without question, but is anyone stunned?

Surprise surprise did not sell !

looks pretty good to me - a few things to fix, nothing major and you have a nice multivalve diesel estate for a good price.

it did sell, just not on ebay!!

Was it a diesel? I thought it ran on spirits...
