Hi folks,

My first thread here.

I am about to purchase a 1995 C280 Sport with 80k on the clock.

It's been serviced regularly by combinatioon of MB dealers and independents.

Runs beautifully.

It has FULL AMG bodykit on it, and so is effectively a C36 replica. I only want one with the bodykit already installed, and this one was put on by the factory (£3k option!).
It's silver metallic, and fully loaded.

Black sports leather, elec seats windows etc, climate, sunroof (as well as a/c), elec rear blind etc etc.

In very nice condition too.

He wants 5k for it if I pay cash. Is that good? A bargain, or slightl over the odds? These ones with AMG kits and fully loaded are quite rare.

So what do you guys (and girls) think?

What's it really worth.

Here's a pic:

imho - as long as you can verify everything - it sounds a reasonable deal if it's the car that you want. How many previous owners has it had? Do you know that it's not been thrashed? Looks nice from the pic - but that can be very deceptive. Unless you know about mechanics etc yourself - I'd get someone to give it a good going over just to be on the safe side. :D

I have see only a few of the C280's dressed like the C36's. They are quite rare I guess. If you are happy with what you are paying for, go for it.

Rear blind etc was not a very popular option but very cool!

At 80k the engine should be like new. But a quick check is to start the engine ,remove the oil filler cap and rev the engine slightly. If the engine is worn you will get "Blue smoke from the filler", if it is a good engine you will just get some spray with fine oil.
