The Model X can have three rows in 6 or 7 seat configuration. It’s essentially the SUV version of the Model S (which itself used to have an option for an extra two dickie seats in the boot, a bit like the old E Class estates did). The forthcoming Model Y (based on the Model 3) also has three rows but early pics I have seen suggest the third row is pretty tight.

A work colleague has the Model X, there are two seats in the front and two in the centre row. The last two seats in the rear are only suitable for small children.

But it does offer generous space for four adults.

That said, four-seater variants have become increasingly common these days across several marques, and not just for small cars or convertible/coupe etc.

There may also be a Model X variant with three seats in the centre row, but that's not that one I have been travelling in.
