Merc vito 110cdi 2.2
Hi

Recently ive had problems with my vito starting. Turns over fine but will not fire for 30 seconds or so. After investigating i found air in the fuel lines and replaced one from the filter to the pump. There is a second hose coming from the fuel pump which appears to disappear towards the back of the engine. Can anyone tell me where this other hose goes to pls as i can see where it goes

TIA
Al

Not certain but could it be the fuel return pipe leading to the tank?

On the 638 that I used to have I had a similar problem.
Iirc the fuel line come in from (& return to) the fuel tank at the RHS of the engine bay.
Note, all as viewed looking at the engine.
The line crosses the engine to the fuel pump & then goes around the left top of the engine to the high pressure pump at the back, before coming back round to feed into the injector rail.
One of those plastic pipes had been poorly routed by a previous owner, allowing it to touch a belt pulley. That belt pulley had worn a tiny hole in the pipe.
As well as checking those plastic lines, it is worth checking the O-rings on the ends of each of the pipes, especially the ones where they enter the fuel filter (as those are most likely to have been removed & thereby damaged )
Hth.
