Merc W203 C220CDI Fan?

Hey all,

I was cleaning the car today and thought I'd clean the engine. I did that and thought I'd start the car and just see if everything was working properly. I noticed not long ago the Fan that sits right at the front of the engine wasn't spinning. I called my dad to rev and see if it would spin then, but nothing.

Does this fan spin only when the car is hot, or should it be spinning all the time? The car runs fine, just wondering.

That fan should kick in when the engine goes above a certain temperature. Helps cool the engine and prevent it from getting any hotter

Ah ok. Thanks, just wondering as in the previous Merc we had (W124 E220 Petrol), it would work all the time.
