hi to all members, i have a w211 e class 270 cdi, got the alternater done 3 months ago ,when i start the car a red sign comes on saying visit workshop and the battery sign shows ,also when you rev the engine i hear some sort of whisleing noise ,to me it sound like comin from the fan belt,before the alternater thre was no whisleing noise,thanks for any help from any one.

Have the 2 batterys been checked ? It could also be a problem with the battery relay or the battery control unit .It could be worth getting the car connected to STAR to see if fimware undate is needed .

Either the alternator or one way drive pulley is toast.
