Was looking at this quite fine example of a 190E 2.6, 1988, 210000 km. Service history until 100000 km. German import 1998. One owner since then.
Hast a rust spot on each rear side by the mudguards. My concern was that the engine block was very /oilygreasy.
The rubber of the air intake tube was worn out and had holes. Otherwise looked ok.
What should I look for with this car? Would it be an idea to take it to a Merc Garage and pay the to go through it? The dealer would give 6 months warranty on the car.
See the car here

Check for cylinder head gasket problems (quite common) and whether the engine has a duplex or single timing chain. If its a single chain budget to replace it. You can check this by looking/feeling inside the oil filler cap on the cam cover with the engine off.

Is that about £3,500? Is that the local going price?

Did M103s come with single chains?

That car has very basic spec - plastic wheel & gearknob, 4 x crank windows - and has been modified with post face lift Sacco panels, later 8 hole alloys (& possibly bumpers), which, as an '88 pre-facelift version it shouldn't have.

Do you have the VIN?

yes it is equivalent to £5K, but you guys will be shocked by the carprices in Denmark in general. If you dare take a look at www.bilbasen.dk 1 danish krone=0.12£.
Am still very impressed with the smooth and silent ride and the roar at kickdown in sport mode.

I had heard cars were expensive in Denmark, but - first one I looked at -

Cheers,
