mercedes 190e sportline 2.6 manual

No surprise, I reckon a base '91 2.6 must have been 30k anyway. I've got a an M-B price list (issued Sept '91) somewhere , I'll make a point to have a look for it.

2.6 Sportline price when new

I have the original dealer sales invoice for my 2.6 from April '92. Options include automatic transmission, metallic paint, Sportline suspension package, leather interior, heated front seats, electric driver's seat, front armrest, OTG, which added £4823 to the base price.

Total with VAT, 12 months tax, number plates & delivery. £27,183 (the salesman included a radio FOC - how sweet of him....)

£38k for a new one? Was it gold plated?

190E 2.6 £23,430.
Optional extras £14,952
Total £38,382 + Radio/Stereo + OTR charges.

That's deep into 2.5-16 territory. It might be most expensive 190 sold in uk ?
My friend had a 2.6 sportline, no leather but 2+2

Yep, it sure is. List then for a basic 2.5-16 was £33k. Fully loaded it could cost 41k + from memory. My one cost 38k+ new.

Not forgetting that's when a pound was a pound :D

Wow! That's an amazing cost for extras. He must have ticked every available option box. I thought mine had a reasonably high spec, but obviously not!

There is actually more options available but those are not applicable to a Sportline.
