I am thinking of recommisioning my W124 300D and was hoping to find a good independent in the Aberdeenshire area. The car has been in storage for a couple of years so will need a bit of TLC but hopefully nothing drastic.

A COUPLE OF REMARKS-- your car is so old that many busy Mercedes specialist workshops may no longer be totally familiar with the model but---- their lack of electronics means many competant small local " all make "garages can take on the job also - here local word of mouth recommendations are your friend -so ask around. inputing classic car restorations aberdeenshire yielded this among others

Your problem at the moment is that many garages are closed

If looking at bona -fide restorer as opposed to merely a servicing outlet be aware many necessarily operate an "open wallet " approach to budget! quality costs!

Not in Aberdeenshire , but Merparts in Port Glasgow work on everything from 1950s classics to current models , and are very good - both Paul and Stef are MB master techs - the highest level - they are the only people I trust to work on my cars , for things I can't do myself .

I know a trek from Aberdeenshire , but they are very good .
