    Fourty-six and a half thousand pounds for a new engine?

    Who on earth would pay that, and why!?! Especially if the engine is easily repairable as they suggest! :eek:

    i bet 3500 (the reserve) wouldnt even buy the packaging from renntec

    It died from water intake - hydraulicing (sp?). Comprehensive insurance pays for that risk.

    At £46.5k for just an engine, wouldn't most insurers end up writing the car off?

    Given that a CLK63 of similar vintage to described is £25-30k, I would be inclined to call "shenanigans"
