Hi Guys,

Have been looking at some C63's, and wondering if it is worth paying the premium from a main dealer.

It seems they vary from anything from an extra 3-5k for the same spec / age / mileage used car. I spoke to the dealer and they say the warranty is 2k value on its own on the price of the vehicle.

I am looking at a black c63 saloon, but, I would want to take it somewhere to get the chrome blacked out, panamerica style grill and a carbon exterior package fitted. Does anyone know if this would void the warranty?

Does anyone have experience of making a claim on the warranty package? If so what was your experience? Do you think it is worth paying a premium for it?

Many thanks!

One thing to consider is that the AMG Approved Used Warranty is 2 years unlike other standard Approved Used Mercedes Models (you get 1 year). Obviously an Approved Used Warranty won't cover everything the orignal Manufacturer's Warranty would cover (even this has exclusions). In terms of claiming, it should just be a case of taking the car back to the dealer who will know it has an Approved Used Warranty and they will sort everything out. There's no need for you to do anything specific to claim.

The last time I bought a used car in 2008 the "used approved" warranty was limitless I thought.
Since then I've only bought a brand new MB. The used cars, I bought from different MB dealers and the several problems were always sorted our with no ifs or buts. However, times have changed = my cars were not AMG

I had a warranty wise 3 year cover - no matter what the reviews say, read the negatives to get an idea when/if things go wrong as its a battle as was in my personal expereince

....and read the small print.....most of the time when customers get upset its their fault for not reading what is and isn't covered before signing up.:) 👍

OP....your proposed mods cannot affect the warranty unless proven to be directly linked to the failure....so possibly the grill might be a cause for argument. If any of the cruise sensors and cameras fail....that might be attached to the grille and were transferred to the new.........then they might try and say you did it!!

Thanks guys..
