Wow. Must have been going at a fair lick to cause that much damage. Horrible.

VN24 - 18-05-2023 (D/M/Y) - Werne / Germany - During the night of the 17th to the 18th of May, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Wesseler Straße in Werne. The Mercedes, which was steered by a very young driving novice, came on the rural avenue lined with trees, shortly before a light left curve from so far unexplained cause obviously with very high speed to the left of the lane and crashed nearly unbraked against a tree. The Mercedes T-model literally burst into a thousand pieces. Many of them, such as the engine with transmission, radiator and other components flew into an adjacent field, the car battery made it more than 60 meters. The young man at the wheel (barely 6 months driving license) could not survive this impact. The accident was discovered by witnesses at around 7 a.m. This was followed by hours of investigation and accident recording by a specialized Accident Investigation Team of the police. It was not until around 2 p.m. that the car and the wreckage could be collected by a towing company and secured for further investigation.

Gott I’m Himmel, that’s crazy damage.

Did police confirm young driver didn't make it or just being severly injured?
High speed drivnig and losing control of his vehicle could only end up in disaster.

The translated article said the young could not survive the crash which is a fairly literal translation of the original German (from sentence/been construction) via a translating app. But what it means in good English is the young man did not survive.

I understood reading the article but reporter who wrote the article made it look like there was a 50% chance driver did not survive the crash or 50% being badly injured ??
There was nothing left in font of the vehicle and I could see from the photos and only fear for the worst that driver had died in the accident.

An old mate of mine, well, he was young at the time, had a Lancia Delta Intgrale.
Coming off a roundabout, he lost control and hit a tree.
Luckily he survived, but suffered severe brain damage and spent months in hospital. The tree just suffered a slight loss of bark!
