mercedes b class 180cdi 2013 w246 glow plug

ok so this morning going to work i had for the first time a glow plug warning on the dash,its now on permanently,along with and engine management light.The car is running fine.I know i need to read any codes but wondered if the glow plug light is indicating a knackered element or relay control .any clues welcome.its the 1.5 diesel unit

More likely a failed glow plug... Use a multimeter to check resistance on each plug, plenty of how to online.

The relays do blow as well.... But generally cheap to source second hand.

Tbh my car , older than yours has two faulty glow plugs for quite sometime....no effect on start-up and no glow plug light , mine doesn't show up as bulb is blown in cluster.... Happy days

The plugs are cheap however be careful they do snap and you end up with more work.

cheers for the reply,mine has the 15 dci renault unit i think? will see if it can test the plugs in place and see if they are down
