Hello,

I'm having a problem unlocking my B-Class with either of the supplied backup (emergency) keys - for if the remote fails.

I wonder if anyone can help.

This page of the instruction manual shows how to unlock the driver door B-Class - Interactive Owner's Manual [In depth | Practical advice | Locking/unlocking in an emergency]

When inserting the key, it does turn clockwise 90 degrees, and then I firmly pull the handle, but the door does not unlock.

Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
Davood

May be worth considering calling out Mobilo?

I don't think the vehicle is covered, since it was registered in 2006.

Are there any other options before taking it to the dealer?

The key does seem to work since it turns 90 degrees, but the door does not unlock.

It say pull "firmly" - wonder how they define that?

Perhaps you're being too gentle, but OTOH I wouldn't want you to snap the handle off!

If it has been serviced at Mercedes, it most certainly will be covered. Mobilo lasts for 3 years as standard and also for 30 years if serviced correctly

On the Mobilo website it says... "Mercedes-Benz Mobilo applies to vehicles registered on or after 1 April 2008, within the geographic area of validity. See "Travelling in Europe"."

Doesn't this suggest I won't be covered? The vehicle was registered Sep 06.

I was wondering about that too but I have tried pulling very hard and still no luck.

I think it sounds like a malfunction in the door locking mechanism.

That refers to the terms and conditions shown on the website. If you look in your documenbtation you'll see it mentioned there, but essentially if you have MB stamps in the book then you'll be covered.

.

Pretty sure you are covered. Call them - they chckc on their system anyway and will only come out if you are covered. And I must say the service is excellent - even includes a replacement car most times if neccesary.Ya got 'nowt to lose!! lol

You are covered, it lasts for 30 years provided the car has been serviced at MB.

The website is referring to a newer version of the Mobilo scheme, that they changed over to in April 2008.

Ok thanks everyone for the support.

I checked the owners' guide, and I am actually covered so I'll be able to call them.
