I wonder how many they sold -range is only 82 miles and it takes 28 hours to recharge from the US 110 volt mains!!

The drive train was supplied by TESLA and its rumoured the model was really to let MB get their hands on Tesla Technology (interestingly, the day the production car was launched to the press was same day Daimler disposed of its four per cent stake in Tesla, which it had held since 2009). As part of the deal TESLA used quite a lot of Mercedes cabin switchgear in exchange evidently.
They were made in limited numbers so the main problem in the UK was getting your hands on one. More of a limited release test bed than anything. Like many early EV models they probably cost the manufaturer more to make than what they sold them for!
