Hello all,
Last Friday I was at the scrap yard searching for good audio unit for my MB.
I came a cross a good conditioned one (I think),but the seller doesn't have the security code!!!
I looked at all sides of the audio unit searching for any written code, with no luck :(
It is a Becker made in Japan.
Is there any way I could get the security code for it?
I made a deal with the seller,if I couldn't get the code,I'll return it to him.
so far I tried once (my old audio security code) and it was wrong of course,so I unplugged it to avoid any long locks.
The attached pic is the same as I bought.
Any lights shed is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Is it possible to get the VIN of the donor car? Perhaps the code site or MB themselves may be able to do something with it.

You could try the old stick-it-in-the-freezer trick. Has worked for me in the past. Put it in a plastic bag to avoid ice ingression.

Yesterday I went to the local dealer, told them about the audio unit, they didn't ask me for any civil id or VIN,they gave me the security code in seconds (after reading the serial number from the side of the unit)!!!!!!
It is obvious now that these units are worthless as Sp!ke said in the provided thread from d w124.

Surprisingly ,the unit is fully functional and amazing sound quality!!!!!!!
The seller sold it to me as he was desperate to find the security code, the last place he could ever think of was the local dealer..which was my first place to go after writing this thread.
Thanks for all who helped...I really appreciate it.
