Lovely car. Plenty of expensive extras - you can tell from the pics that it's been looked after.

The space behind the fuller cap looks much larger than normal, there seems to be an indent for another filler hole to be cut, anyone know why?

I don't think i've ever seen the wood like that before, looks odd.

It's a period add-on accessory wood kit as the pre-facelift ones do not have wood trim on the door panels.

A bit over the top for my tastes and normally fade badly, but are popular on those in Japan and the Far East. They do like their wood trim interiors out there.

Well spotted! Checked out their website and I've never seen another like it before - alternative fuel perhaps?

Have a look at your CE,it should have the same thing

also has the rare oversized wood:

That`s not rare,it was an after market thing back on the day.As already said ^ the early cars did not have the wood trims on the doors

As opposed to the ludicrous prices that some specialist dealers try and flog standard W124's for, that one looks an absolute bargain.

+1

Has anyone here had any dealings with the seller, North Star Classic Cars?

Nope, but given the cars he's selling, and the viewing is "by appointment only" I would take a guess that it's a one man band doing some trading part time.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but just means you need to check the car very thoroughly (personally I do this wherever I buy from).
