Called said dealership after a part no and quote for the ECU that controls the cruise control, that recently packed up. been warned this is an expensive bit of kit so was prepared for it. wasnt prepared for how rude the chap on the parts dept was, when i called. he said 'we dont give part nos over the phone anymore'....wonder why!! he was really rude and couldnt even locate the part i needed.

called mercedes at tamworth, guy really helpful, found the part (£437 + VAT!!) and gave me the part no without a question, why are the bigger dealers such awful at customer service??

MB Bham (parts) are not the only dealers who are reluctant to give out part numbers.

In fact it is always far better and more convenient, to call the Mercedes Parts Distribution Centre in Birmingham from where all dealers obtain parts etc as with MB taking over dealerships they have centralised parts distribution to one location, for the midlands at least.

They have been very helpful to me in the past including providing printouts of WIS sheets etc

So have you got some contact details for them? Can anyone call or do you have to be a trader?

Cheers

Anyone can use the Birmingham PDC, in fact other than Gerard Mann the PDC is where all the Birmingham parts come from...

Draytons (Stourbridge/Wolves) or KMS are always the best source of parts in Birmingham
