Has anyone heard about MB offering fixed price A & B servicing in London in attempting to keep customers in the fold ??

Happened in my area (Southampton, Winchester, Chichester) and have heard MB are 'encouraging' dealers to offer fixed prices.

I've never understood how servicing can be anything other than fixed priced.

I call my independent garage for a quote, take my car there, collect my car and pay the invoice which is the same as the quote.

Clearly, if whilst servicing the car they see that the brake pads need changing, then that needs a new quote.

How were MB previously servicing cars?

It has always been fixed but what seems to have happened is that MB have leaned on the dealers to offer *lower* pricing.

Bear in mind that both A & B services are little more than oil and filter changes with some checks - brief on A service and a bit more in-depth on B service. The cost mounts up if other age/mileage related work is required.
