I had my e320cdi avantgarde estate serviced last week.

Prior to this the computer service interval counter was always really slow and when I changed the oil the millage to the next service counterwould actuallly go up.

~MBenz reset my service computer to 13,000 miles at the service.

however, its now down to 12,600 miles to next A service and I've done only about 100 miles since the service.

Are MBenz able to reload the car computer software so it counts down faster and book the car in and loode yet more money at thr dealer.

Please could someone advise - chees

It changes with driving style too, its not just a mileage counter... you will find that it may go back up if for example you start doing long motorway journeys..

Its a pretty intelligent system.

I've had that on my W203 C320 it somtimes goes up and sometimes goes down check if it needs any oil added becuase somtimes it might need 1liter but it doesnt tell you.

also driving style if you drive it abit hard the service counter seems to go down. has an oil sensor it checks how clean the oil is.. quality of the oil etc..

Nice post!

My car (W209 200K) was also set to 13000 miles at its service B.

I shall keep an eye on its thoughts as to when it claims the next service is due....
