What do you class as peanuts???

2009 cars are being sold for £26k upwards, therefore you will be offered around £23k upwards as dealers do it for a profit and not for love.

How much do you want for it?? If you want more than that sell it privately.

Thepeanuts i have been offered is 20500 to 22500 and i think for a 40k car as it is 18 in 16 month is this right ???

Well cars loose around 30-35% in the first 12-18 months and then loose another 10% of list in the next year and around 5% every year after that.

You're simply getting out at the wrong time I'm afraid.

Think how happy the next owner will be though, he will only loose around £5k over the next 12-18 months. ;)

I do think the offers are pretty low though, has it not got comand or in Jewish Racing Gold or something?
I would have thought £23k is more like it.

Oh, just saw you said £22500 from someone, don't think that is far off to be honest.

You may as well hold on to it, swapping now is not really going to save you much in the long run.

I would advertise it at £26k privately with a good advert, on autotrader online and pistonheads and see what happens.

For the last year you have looked proper wealthy because people know that first year depreciation is a killer on a big shiny merc. The well flash motor premium is what made you look so flush. It was nearly an average persons income spent on self indulgence.

I don't think anybody begrudges you your choice but there is no point in complaining. You can't have your cake and eat it.

Is there a more cash inefficient way to provide yourself with transport than a brand spanking new EClass every year? I can't think of one. If it was mine I would be keeping it for at least six years.

Just saying.

its in iridium silver and has audio 50 sat nav.

DOnt you think at 26k it will be the cheapest E350cdi around as on ebay they are still 29k to 32k .

If i cant sell it then i have to keep it one wonders if it will meet the option to purchase figure of 19k at 3 years old ???

Why not try ebay at 32K? It may or may not sell, but you'll have a better idea of its real worth.

Your best bet, at least financially, is to hang on to it. What would you replace it with?

The money grabbing *******s! It's just not right is it!

I'll give you £22,600.

:D

Yes, not a lot of cash from the dealers, but as others mention the numbers of % reduction in the early years is very strong.

Also remember, Leasing companies get these car very very cheap from new, 25% of RRP is common place, some get better, best I ever heard of was 50% deal, Leasing company took a job lots of Mercs (the good, bad and odd colours) it all adds up to cars dropping price too steep after purchased new....

I guess it will sell ok on Piston or Trader at 25k.....
