Mercedes C200K Coupe 2001

Hi, my boot light hasn't worked since I've owned the car.
The bulb is fine but despite a good look around the tailgate I can't see a switch of any type - am I blind!
I'm assuming if not the bulb then it must be a switch somewhere, any help/pointers greatly appreciated

Just a stab in the dark ................ Is it incorporated in the tailgate lock mechanism?

Just checked my C Class and although mine is a saloon not a coupe I would think the same principle applies.

Boot open, light on, operate the boot catch (boot still open) with a screwdriver by pushing the locking mechanism up, as would happen when the boot is closed, light goes out. Operate the boot open handle and the light comes back on, so the switch is incorporated in the locking mechanism.
