Good Afternoon all,

I hope you're all well.

Phoned up Mercedes benz of Coventry today to acquire some brake pads and discs for the front and rear of my beautiful CL65 AMG to find out the total is £3400 for everything.

Then found out you can't buy the discs anymore from merc as they dont make them, but I can get the pads for a cool £500 all in for all corners.

Where the hell do I get some proper brakes from?
GSF and Euro carparts can't get me any, and I really don't want to buy from there anyway.

AP racing is right nearby, but i fear they will cost me my kidneys...

Pls help.

Many thanks

H

Try another dealer, I’m sure that isn’t correct that they wouldn’t supply friction parts for a car of this age.

Maybe on back order or something but I don’t believe they cannot source them.

Is this them?

Look like Brembo to me, you could try an OEM supplier of Brembo discs otherwise if MB won’t play ball?

The guy was adamant Mercedes don't make them anymore as they are an 01 part

Have you got a picture of your current discs?

What’s the part number you’re using?

They're supposed to be £360 a disc on the front :'(
That can’t be right - in the first post you said they quoted £3400 for discs and pads all round. Then the pads are only £500 for all four corners?

£3400-500-360-360 leaves £2180 for the rear discs?

Each rear disc is like 800 ish plus VAT!

I've called Solihull branch this morning they confirmed they no longer are being made! :(

Still doesn’t add up though! :)

It does... each disc was over 1k each INC vat... (which I couldn't believe...)
Part numbers for front and rears.

Fair enough - wasn’t aware you were alternating between ex. VAT and inc. VAT.

Did you look at the link I posted yesterday in post #3 :)

Yes I did, I think they're the rear discs, so £1000 for 2 discs! Thank you very much.

They seem genuine to me

I think it’s for the fronts on the link I posted, but do check obviously! Rears showing currently unavailable but you can enquire with them of course.

Kunzmann have been around for ages AFAIK.
