Hi everyone.

New AMG owner! Can I have some advice please from people who have a better understanding of the Service Schedule?

I have a 2018 CLA45 that’s had 4 services to date. 2 As and 2 Bs. The 5th is now due.

In the 3rd they did Transmission Oil and Filter which is good. In the 4th they did the Spark Plugs which is again good.

I’ve been quoted roughly £672 per year for a Service and MOT. Whether I do 2 services or 3 or 4 services, over a 12 month payment window, 36 or 48 months, it always appears to be £672 per service/MOT.

I’ve also been quoted £370 for next Service A.

Can anyone advise what big items are coming up and whether the service plan is worthwhile?

£672 per year still seems quite expensive so trying to understand whether it would be cheaper to do separately.

I am tempted to do the next Service A separately and then start the Service Plan so I get a B, A, B. However, again, need to understand if £672 is good value.

Finally, there is a “Mercedes Approved” garage near me that can maintain the MB service history. Are they worth considering? Going to call tomorrow for a quote.

The only other option I’m considering is whether to go Indy as plan on keeping for 7-10 years. However, I’ve heard they will then cover big items if they fail unexpectedly, so may be worth it.

Thanks.

Is the car under warranty?

TBH for a 5 year old car I would go for an MB specialist. You'd get better service really and will be half the cost. Save the cash for the extended warranty.

Warranty is only for 4 years on Mercedes vehicles so unfortunately not.

In that case, purchase extended warranty with the cash saved from going to an MB specialist. Anything goes wrong on these cars it'll cover the cost of the warranty anyway

You must be really lucky as I've never found any indy anywhere remotely close to me that are half the price of a dealer! "A" service on my SL, indy1 £190, indy 2 £210, indy 3 £210 dealer price £240 and that includes mobilo for another year!

MB specialist in Huddersfield - B1 service £205. A7 service was £390 which is the trans fluid one. MB wanted £600+ for that alone

Contacted my local Mercedes approved Indy (who can update the digital service history).

£220 for A + Pollen Filter (unsure on number). Pretty happy with that compared to Mercedes £370.

When I had my C207 my local Mercedes dealer was cheaper than the Mercedes specialist.
