Ok guys so I bought this car last week. Been a pleasure to drive.

However got into the car today. And the steering feels weird.

Quite creaky sounding. I have also noticed the steering wheel is not centered.

Any ideas what this could be?

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't answer your question, how long is a piece of string? But I'm a newbie too, seeing you had no replies, I thought at least I can empathise.
There are so many things it could be, ranging from cavitation due to a low fluid level, to something about to catastrophically fall off.
Can I suggest going to a MOT test centre (VTS), that has single man testing. They will have a lift fitted with shaker plates, if something is loose it will show up on there, I've seen movement on them that couldn't be detected by hand ! What will they charge for 15minutes work when they are not testing anyway?
Any problem with steering or brakes is safety critical, pleeeeeeasze get it checked now.

Hi, was the wheel centered when you bought it, and have you checked the fluid level ?

There is a pump a filter and fluid in the steering rack.
Open the steering fluid reservoir and check the level with the dipstick that is molded into the screw off lid. Top up if necessary.

The fluid in steering racks is much neglected and rarely replaced, but is easy and cheap to change, a new steering rack is not easy and cheap to change.

On the other hand you could have a mechanical problem with ball joint/link(s) on the front axle. Get the front end up in the air and get it checked out.

Hi guys had an mot today. Failed on the front axle rear bottom control arm.

I have replaced and retested all good and has now passed. The steering has centered but the noise is still there slightly. Thanks for all your help guys

Suspension drop links can cause noise often well before they cause an MOT issue, at the age of this car there will likely be play in a lot of components even those that have been changed from original.
