Hi

Has anyone got this to work? My dealer set me up on Mercedes Me (which basically just gives you a picture of your car) but they don't know how to connect the Mercedes Connect Me to Mercedes Me, so all the useful stuff is missing.

So I called the Mercedes Connect Me help desk, who are actually the same people as Mercedes Customer Service, whose stock response is "Call you dealer". My response "They don't know how to do it". Their response "They have to use a system called a POS. Call your dealer"

I did ask the the last bit to be repeated, and it really is a POS.

Any hints anyone?

Thanks

They have a product specialist, maybe try to get hold of them?
When I asked questions about remote and CarPlay the sales said they would ask a product specialist for more info.

There is also the online manual if that sheds any more light.
From what I hear it's quite locked down to prevent unauthorised access and you need to phone MB.

Mine works, can see car location, add a geonet, fuel etc etc.

It's all quite simple. Follow the links that the dealer has set you up, scroll down and activate services available to you car model... I've got 11 activated

Can you switch on the air con to cool car down, and heater in winter to demist?

You can set a heater or preheated settings in the winter but the set up is remote

Do you have to pay extra for that service? It does not seem to be available for my W205 C Class 300 Hybrid, as I have already activated all the 11 services listed for my car on the Mercedes Me portal.

Not sure to be honest, not even tried it, car has only been with me for 5 days. It's in the climate control settings

Steve

It's free with command and I think £150 for remote online if you have garmin.

Thank you JBD! I have the Comand Online with the remote services activated. For example, I can send POIs to my sat-nav or lock/unlock the doors remotely.

If that helps, when I unlock the doors using the key, there is a function called "Pre-entry climate control" (or something similar) that kicks in automatically and blows either cold or warm air according to the outside temperature and in winter even activates the heated seats. From what I understand, it uses the extra battery installed on my 300h and runs for a few minutes until either the desired temperature is reached or the battery gets below a certain threshold.
Do you think I should be able to activate it as remote service for my C300 Hybrid? If I check on the "Manage my vehicle" section of Mercedes Me, it looks like I have already activated 11 out of 11 services available.
Cheers

If only it was. If you try to activate Connect me (Manage Services) you go through the whole thing and then it says contact your dealer. The dealer says "We've done it". But they haven't. An MB Connect Me HelpDesk just says "contact your dealer".

A great car, but MB and the dealership are utterly utterly hopeless.

You could try another dealer, all I got on mine was 3 or 4 emails for registration etc, followed the link, logged in, new password etc and it was working.

Must be a dealer issue as opposed to software.

Yes. Good idea. I'll use another dealer now rather than Robinsons for everything.

You should have the remote heating and cooling on a 300h. It's only available on hybrid vehicles

Or call me at Robinsons Norwich. We don't have any issues setting them up here!

Hi JBD

Can you tell me if I should have remote heating and cooling on my 2o15 E300 hybrid SE?

Many thanks
M

Hi James

I did call you back but you were with a Customer. Unfortunately the only e-mail I received from [email protected] was:

Mercedes connect me: Removal of vehicle link successful
This is an automatically generated e-mail. Please do not reply.

So I'm now back further than I was before. I would call the "Helpline", but they are utterly hopeless.

Hi JBD, thank you for your reply:thumb:
However, I had a look on the Mercedes Me website and it appears that such a feature is available only on plug-in hybrid vehicles, such as the C350e, but not on the C300h :-( This does not really make too much sense, as the Pre-entry climate control can be activated remotely with my key and does not require the ignition to be turned on.
I had a look at the list of active services and it looks like 11 out of 11 services available have already been activated:

Accident Recovery
Live Traffic Information
Breakdown Management
Vehicle Tracker
Mercedes-Benz emergency call system
Remote Door Locking and Unlocking
Remote Retrieval of Vehicle Status
Parked Vehicle Locator
Geofencing
Maintenance Management
Telediagnostics

Am I missing something?

Cheers

Well James did get back to me and it's all sorted out. Alas the other dealer just kept on using an incorrect e-mail address (even though I did specifically check with them on this point).

James also asked why I didn't take out the Mercedes servicing package. Well simply due to the fact the original dealer never mentioned it to me. On checking on this and other forums, it actually makes sense. Essentially on the E Class it's £30 per month, and although you may well get an A Service for this amount (ie. 12 x £30), other people have said that a B Service can cost north of £900, so I took that out as well.

I haven't exactly been over impressed with MB. However, I did say to James that when it comes to changing the E Class in 2 or 3 years, if he's still at MB, he'll be my first port of call. Sure I'll have to drive up to MB in Norwich (I have a house in Suffolk anyway so it's not a huge problem for me), but this guy does seem to have a sense of responsibility to the brand and for customer service, something which is on the whole sadly lacking in this day and age.
