Mercedes Dealership Service ! I'm Not Happy !

Being Scottish it is in our nature.

We ordered a new suite recently , haggled and saved £600.

New living room tables , haggled and saved £100.

Tried to haggle in PC World as we were buying a TV / Stand / Laptop / Tablet but the chap would only "offer" us around 2% off so we walked away ,but returned  as we couldn't get the items any cheaper elsewhere in the timescale we needed and they knew it as PC World have got the local market pretty sewn up.

Maybe those that don't "haggle" have too much money or feel embarrassed about doing so, not me the £700 we saved is better off in our pockets than the shops till.

Kenny

Always haggle. I tried to buy an E350 from a dealer, prior to the one I've now purchased & they wouldn't knock a penny off. No incentive, nothing. The car has now been reduced and is still for sale despite me being willing to pay more than the current advertised price. This is within the last three weeks. They flatly refused to haggle as a main dealer.

My wife remarked back in 1993 when I bought a new 201 that the salesman was nearly in tears.

I knew that the pretty well spec'd car had been a cancelled order and that it was last in the line as the W202 release was imminent.

So I haggled and haggled till he squeaked.

Since when ? It has been an option since day 1 .
Factory Collection ceased for UK customers in (from memory) late 2012. Another "star" performance from the suits in Milton-Keynes

Sort of agree, but if you wrote to me with such bad grammar & punctuation, as you have above, I wouldn't entertain dealing with you. Infact, I wouldn't even reply. No offence, and please don't take it personally, but an educated well-written & correctly punctuated email / letter reflects the type of person I'm dealing with, whether they're dressed in a suit or not.

Come on get this in context, its a forum post on a smart phone on a not so smart app, it's not a dissertation for my PhD.

Please, before criticising my grammar and punctuation, please re-read your own post which contains grammatical and punctuation errors.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.

flango's more into being effective than sounding or looking good 55NF - and from my understanding he's pretty darn effective at what he does. It's a bit like asking Joe Cocker to smarten up and sing right - it just isn't something that's valid - if you know what I mean.... :):)

I've always suspected that he's a distant cousin of the Banana Splits.

Just not sure which one: Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper, or Snorky.

Banana curry?

Naah. Sounds a bit too mild…

whats effective about writing a post that because it has no punctuation has to be red sevral times before you can get the gist if your lucky there are those who argu that communication not grammer is what matters but communication without grammer can be not only misleading but in certain circumstances downright dangerous misleading in more ways than one is the writer idle or not literate or maybe just writing on one of thoes not so smart phones or as i said before just carnt be rsst either way sum oldies like me can be jugemental about such things as it undermines the writers credibility but we have as much right to be pedants as thoes who think theres nowt wrong with making a load of grammetical mistakes and covring them up by pretending its ok and what has joe cocker got to do with grammer and any way hes ded so asking him to smarten up and sing right wud be a waist of time

Capital letters are also important.

Would you really want to help your Uncle jack off a horse?

I was highlighting the irony of your post (ie educated idiot in a suit)

Even though I found it difficult to dissect your post my text was uttered in the festive spirit of enlightenment.

Back to my original post, I've had a reply from the DP of the dealership concerned & the matter has been promptly resolved, or will be in the first week of Jan. Have to say I'm impressed with the level of service once the shop floor has been bypassed. One point this has highlighted is that PDI's aren't carried out thoroughly enough.

Happy Xmas :thumb:
