I need some Mercedes specific diagnostic now to access all the Mercedes modules. Star is way to expensive.

Has anyone used Carly Mercedes or iCarsoft MB-II

thanks

Yes, about a million people have tried icarsoft. If you go to benzworld's w220 forum, a guy posted a pretty detailed review of it.

I have a icarsoft II that could be for sale

I have MB iCarsoft II. For the price its excellent. Easy to use and the database of DTC codes can be upgraded free on line and saved to the unit via the supplied micro card USB stick (PC/MAC required).

I have Icarsoft MB2. It has successfully diagnosed 2 faults on our ML270, ABS fault and Parktronic fault. It also diagnosed s temperature sensor fault on our Mini cooper.
For the money, excellent but not a star tool.

I ran the freebie diagnostic with Carly and my £5 bluetooth ODB lump and was very impressed with the results, it told me exactly what was causing my intermittent ESP error, SAS rather than brake light switch unfortunately but could've been worse, and exactly which parking sensor mucks about sometimes. If anyone's interested this is the report I got...

I have Carly MB, it’s OK not mega polished but does get a lot of MB specific and detailed codes out. Its a code reader basically but goes way beyond what you get from an OBD2 one.

It’s not as good as the Carly BMW app though - they get to do coding and all sorts with theirs!

just to update, MB2 just successfully diagnosed a Parktronic issue as one sensor faulty, so works on that system as well. If you consider that i have used it 4 times now and been successful, if you translate that into MB charges for diagnostic then at £150 it has more than paid for itself.

I have the full Carly Pro app including the Carly adapter, and yes the interface is a bit quirky, and some 'faults' detected seem sporadic, but all in all it work well for the money.

The big plus is that I leave the adapter permanently connected to the OBDII port so I can hop on at any time from my mobile phone without having to fumble with cables etc (which I had to do with my old Autel).

Ive got mb2 @ £136 its reset my aircon following a regas. Its told me my inboard air temp sensor has failed. Ill be using it to disable sbc come brake pad changes. Very good bit of kit.

Impressed with the iCarsoft MB reader, five minutes practice and you're profficient, finds and clears faults quickly on all systems, not just engine, just under £100, one scan pays for it. I've also got one for my Wife's Renault, and another for a previously owned Jaguar. More than worth the cost.

I'm looking at getting either the Carsoft i980or the more up to date MB II reader to use on my '07 W203 C230.
There seems to be about £35-£40 difference in price between the two, so any advice please from those of you who already use these on whether the later one is worth paying the extra for?

BUY THE MB2 FOR £136 , it covers alot more modules than the i980 also you get updates via icarsoft website.

Could anyone please tell me whether the icarsoft MB II would be compatiable with my 2015 CLA 220 Shooting Brake as when I look at the models listed I can’t see mine there.

I have just upgraded my MB Star C4 with an SSD to replace the HD in the Panasonic toughbook. Makes it a lot quicker to load the software, well worth the cost and effort.
