Quite a few of the local 'boy racers' are in fact members of car clubs sharing expensive supercars. Technically the cars are 'rented' so confiscating cars might not be an option.

On another note.... we don't actually know that the cars were stopped and drivers' details taken at the scene.........?

It should still be an option , with the owner then having to go after the driver for recovery of their losses . If this results in the 'clubs' restricting what is done with their cars , perhaps via gps tracking , then so much the better .

A Section 59 notice applies to both vehicle and driver, so if the driver is caught for a second time whatever car he's driving there and then can be seized. Likewise, if the car is stopped for a second time it can be seized regardless of who's driving it.

It is unlikely that said dads would condone loutish behaviour and most likely would mete out their own discipline to their offspring for bringing the family name into disrepute .

There was a documentary about these cars and their drivers a while ago. The young men featured were from very wealthy Middle Eastern families who liked to spend their summers posing around West London. Judging by the lack of interest from the police it is fair to surmise that their families had a certain degree of "influence" and certainly had no inclination whatsoever to reign in the behaviour of their pampered offspring.

The reason for raising this is that possibly the named individuals simply took the fall for someone else.....?

They sound more like sad man wannabes.

They probably don't actually live at those addresses.
