No actually! There are quite a few parts which came with it which I never used. I had a mat as well so simply wedged it at the bottom . I was often taking it out and putting it in again so that worked pretty well. You can have the rubber mat if you like !

That is sort of what I do now to be honest, seems to work well enough.
I have the 7 seats mate so can see me never using the matt as I use the seats quite a lot.
