Mercedes GL X164 Suspension Shock absorbers

I have a Mercedes GL X164 420CDI and I’m struggling to find some replacement shock absorbers.

I checked Arnotts site brochure and there’s two types “with AMG suspension” or “without AMG suspension” but I’m not sure how I find out what I have!?

Is there an accurate/official VIN decoder that might list my buildout?

Hi, if you get a copy of an EPC it will give you the part numbers. I had a 2006 GL420 and if I remember correctly there were two versions of the struts. One with the sport/comfort setting which has a little valve on the strut and a button on the dash to select the modes. The other type is just a single rate shock, no button. I thought the AMG shocks were for the GL63. Have you checked AUTODOC?
