Well Mark44, I cannot disagree with a word you have said.

I'm fully aware of that problem with new cars. So keeping to previous, outgoing or a bit basic ones.
No need for Mercedes me account if not using adapter or Live Traffic.
I limit myself to 2014/15 Mercedes cars without the above features. My 2017 Audi is also old technology. I know I will get stuck in time warp at some point. Luckily there are also some basic cars around without all these gadgets.Remote locking/unlocking
Remote Parking Assis
Vehicle Setup (alarms and notifications)
GPS Geofencing
Accident Managemnet
Concierge Service
In-Car Office
I believe all these require registration with Mercedes Me, though I can't really verify this, because none of these services are available for my 2013 car....
Anyway, perhaps Tesla owners can comment on the need to register your car with the car manufacturer?
The only reason I won't bother getting one fitted are the reviews saying the app drains the mobile phone battery excessively.
Just put in my details and it says ‘we will be in contact soon’
Why do we need to book in fitting anyway? Isn’t it just plugging in that unit into the OBD?!!
That's not my experience...I had one fitted about a month ago but I've given up using it now. I got fed up with having a dialog come up on my iPhone every time I got in the car asking me if I want to allow the adaptor to connect. Mercedes tell me that, unlike every other Bluetooth device, there's no way of getting it to remember.
