HI

Anybody else having problems with the new Mercedes me update , the old one worked fine but i got an email from Merc telling me i had to install the new Mercedes me app . did this but now no connection between car and phone , my details have transferred over ie Chassis no and Reg , but the image of the car has a cover on it , any help would be appreciated .

How do you know there is no communication between car and app?

Mine has the car with the cover on it but can still lock/unlock see range etc etc?

Yes, similar (but not identical) issues with Mercedes Me 2020 and my W177 A-Class.

I suspect that there are underlying issues with some of the car to host contact as the Mercedes Me online portal thinks the map cartography in my car is an older version than the current version I updated it to about three weeks ago. I'll mention it to the dealer when I take it in for service in a couple of weeks (assuming they're still working and I'm allowed to leave the house!).

Frankly, if the Mercedes Me system were a parachute I wouldn't be strapping it on and jumping out of a 'plane :rolleyes:

There is nothing at all working on the app , no fuel levels , range , journey stats etc

Completely agree , can you let me know what the Merc dealers say please ( assuming the world hasn't ended by then )
 
Just been asked by dealer about 90 mins ago if I wanted to Install Mercedes Me on my phone and car while they service it. apparently it has worked but car shown as covered like previous post and service history cannot be accessed , will see how it is when I get it back ( currently self isolating in nice empty customer lounge at MB Sinclair Swansea )
 
It’s not as good !!!! Can’t lock the car whilst the engine is running anymore !!!! This was handy when battery was running flat
 
Had similar issues with the new app. Installed it fine and it all seemed to work. Next day tried to set pre-entry climate to warm the car (C350e) but no luck. Reinstalled the old app and that worked fine.

Updated app from 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 (I think it was) but no change.

Logged a call with support, they suggested uninstall/reinstall which I did. Result was worse, graphic showed covered car (of the wrong shape) and a totally blank second screen where all the data should be. Left it at that after updating the call with support.

Looked at it the following day, everything now back as before...and pre-entry now working.

App version is now 1.0.4 (544)

Conclusion...it's at least, if not more, flakey than the original app, doesn’t add much, but is a bit prettier.
 
If unattended, then yes, it is still illegal.
I’m not sure in the rule , but I’m sure it’s only illegal on public highways and as a drive is classed as private and no public access I’m sure I’m safe doing it 🤔

Me either , have been reading up on it , and seems yes on public highways etc it’s illegal , but on private land as I read it’s perfectly ok ,, but I won’t swear to it 👍🏻🤔

Now that I think about it, I was thinking about a guy who lives around the corner from me who used to start his car on the drive every morning it was frosty (Almost New BMW) while he had a cuppa in the house leaving it to warm up. Until one day someone drove his car away and he never saw it again, it was almost a year later before he managed to replace it with an old Mercedes, I heard the insurance company refused to payout.

That was probably because the car was left with the keys in the ignition unattended than the fact it was on a driveway

My CLA is only six weeks old and at first Mercedes Me 2020 worked faultlessly with no problems whatsoever then for no apparent reason things started going wrong with the app, only some of the actions working, I contacted Mercedes Me customer services about four weeks ago - while being very supportive making various suggestions on how to fix it, like delete the old app and download a new app they even gave my problem to their technical boys. The last piece of advice to resolve the problem was move the vehicle for ten minutes which I did and guess what it's still the same , back to the drawing board - waiting for the next piece of guidance.
