Hi Everyone,
Can I have an opinion on Mercedes Specialists servicing my Mercedes rather than a dealership?
My car is no longer under warranty so I don’t feel inclined to take it back where I bought it. As with everyone watching their £££’s, I would like the car serviced by a Mercedes technician but not necessarily at a dealership. The hourly rate will obviously still be considerable but I’m guessing not as high as a Mercedes dealership

Grateful for advice sooner rather than later please.

1. It's a good idea, and you'll save money. Just make sure that the independent specialist has access to the MB DSB.

2. But check also MB Service Plan pricing - it can work out quite cheap.

3. Even if you have the car serviced at the dealer - to maintain main dealer FSH - do get any repairs or brakes etc done at an independent specialist.

4. If you get the car serviced at MB, you get 12 months MB Mobilo roadside assistance for free. But roadside assistance can obviously be bought from many other places.

5. Consider @BlackC55 down in Horndean, highly recommended.

It all depends upon who’s doing the work. Great main dealers, independent marque specialists and general workahop are worth their weight in gold, but they’re few and far between.

Some are more average in their ability and can be almost as expensive as a main dealer which means they’re not really good value, and so there’s a less compelling reason to use them.

Ask for recommendations in your area, make a few calls, and use who you trust most whether it’s a main dealer, independent marque specialist or general workshop.

Whereabouts are you and how far are you prepared to travel?

Hi Bobby, I live in Surrey but I’ve found Hampshire Service Centre they are Mercedes Specialist, I’m going to give them a call today. Thanks for your advice

If travelling to Hampshire is an option then PCS in Horndean would be my recommendation without hesitation. Service and expertise is second to none and reasonable pricing means good value for money.
