Just wondering if anyone else has had one of these card turn up in the post?
And what does everyone think of the offer? Is it worth it?

I'd have a bit of that.

Do you know if it's available nationwide?

not sure if it is nationwide but im calling them up tomorrow - i will ask then, then post up what they say..

I note the A service on the W203 is now £40 cheaper but the B service hasn't changed in price....wonder why??

Oooo - that's true. I've never seen C Class servicing that cheap. Wonder if the dealers are struggling big time, although I went into MB Chester this morning for them to fit the air filter they omitted to change at the last service and the place seemed fairly busy, which is unusual.

Mine is coming up to 6 years old and the ServicePlus coverage is coming to an end. I'd be terrified of taking it into a dealership without that behind me - that £159 could soon end up being two or three times that with a bit of "additional" work. And getting the dealer to do the discounted MOT - no way!

Just looked at the Inchcape MB dealer group pages and they offer reduced price servicing at 4+. The A service is a bit dearer, but the B is cheaper:

...slightly different overall offer though. eg the one in the OP charges £10 for collection and deliver but offers 30 mins diagnostic time.

I belong to the MB Kent "7 years plus club" which gives me 10% off parts and 40% off labour for any jobs done at the local franchised dealer (I usually go to MB Tonbridge). There was no charge to join, they just rang & asked me after I'd been in for some service parts.

Thanks for reminding me - I'd fogotten about that, pretty certain I signed up just after I bought the C270 but have not had reason to take the car in to them since. As I now need ATF / filter change I must give MB Ashford a call, see what they would charge compared to class Cars in Wingham - who IIRC quoted Lisa Jayne £146 for the same job on her SLK.

For the uninitiated, it's worth pointing out that "fixed price" does not necessarily mean "all-inclusive".

For instance, this fixed price menu from the Mercedes-Benz London group shows standard prices for the A and B services, with reduced rates for cars over 3 years old. Understandably, the prices are higher than MB Chester's, but note that there are also various separately-priced Additional ESS (Electronic Service Sheet) items, some of which you might have expected to be included in the service cost.

So, let's say a C-Class needs a set of spark plugs, air & fuel filters and brake fluid: that's another £420 on top of the fixed service price.

I'd imagine these items are also charged as extras at other MB garages – it's certainly worth asking. I could be wrong, but on the face of it, it seems that the fixed prices cover the oil and labour costs, and not much else.

Incidentally, there's a handy online tool that lets you check/print the ESS for your car's next service if you know the registration date and mileage.

They sent me one, so obviously they didn't have the time of day for me when I went in to enquire about a paint depth test as the first step in hopefully getting some goodwill re my tinworm, but they did take the time to sign me up to their marketing list

Also good - small print on the back - "Excludes AMG models"

Why send it to me then? Eeedjits.

MB Ashford have stopped their 8+ club and made it 3+ instead, reduced their labour charge (so they say) and give a discount of 20% on labour, 10% on parts - not as good as MB Tonbridge!
I asked them for a price for ATF/filter change on my C270 - after discount, £221. Class cars quoted an aquaintance £146 for the same job on her 98 SLK!

Some dealers are already running a version of this offering a 40% discount on parts.

Also worth noting the reduced price MoT

i had a quick look around on the fixed price serviceing prices, mb milton keynes do a price match and their fixed price servicing prices are lower than all the other dealerships.. hows that then?

That's basically correct - A & B service is oil and filter change, plus some checks. The only additional thing done at B service is pollen filter change.

So everything else costs extra.

I can't believe the air filter change is £90  (as mentioned earlier, they forgot to change mine and it was done in 10mins once they took the car away) and the fuel filter £130 (although that's a bit more involved).

Same here but as my car is neaslry 9 years old go to Steve in Maidstone instead. Better / personal service and much better prices too!:bannana:
