Can anyone recommend a good Mercedes specialist in Northern Ireland? Got my new (to me!) 2002 SL500 home after buying it in England last week and I want to get it checked over and the ABC system serviced. Heard a few recommendations for Creevy Autos so I gave them a ring but as soon as I mentioned ABC he wanted nothing to do with it. Not the best start to ownership I've got to be honest

Similar experiences with them to be honest. Had a very good indie lined up in Portadown but has recently decided to quit the business apparently 🤦‍♂️. He had gave me a number of someone in a similar area if it’s of use?
Otherwise the guys at nutts corner have been recommended before but I haven’t used.
AMG in ballyclare the same but not sure how they’d be on SBC, sadly may be an agnews job 😬
I’ve just ended up doing most of my own stuff.
There was a later e-class recall I think, if it covered the sl you might end up with a free inspection at least.

Thanks for the reply. I've been recommended Murray Motors in Lisburn and she's booked in with them on Tuesday so I'll see how it goes. Wanna stay away from Agnew's as much as possible 😆

Just saw this. NMG in Dunmurry has looked after all my Mercs over the years and has done the same for several chums. He is an AMG mechanic and genuinely knows his stuff. Even better, he is very fair on price and will never overcharge. In fact, I have had to make him take more than he asked on occasions! If you want to pm me on Murray Motors…..

D

I used to use Creevy autos for all my cars, except for the current E63. I have a service planned on it as I bought it at only 4 months old.
My neighbour still uses Creevys.

I'm surprised by the didn't want to know comment, seems very unlike them.

Yeah I was surprised as well they seem to have a good reputation. But there you go! The washer fluid is leaking and I'm going to need the front valve block changed so that's going to be the next job. It should be covered under warranty so not too bad, other than that there is some play in one of the strut ball joints, looking online it looks like they can be sent to England for repair rather than buying a whole new strut. Other than that she seems in pretty good shape!

Can't send PM's, post count isn't high enough yet  thanks for the recommendation, I'll give NMG a look

Just to let you all know that Alan McVeigh on Alanbrooke Road, Castlereagh, Belfast is very good with Mercedes and has STAR, I use him all the time.

Did you get sorted?

Good timing on this comment! After all that the sagging issue seemed to get better and it was driving fine so I didn't do anything else and it's been great. Just before Christmas though I got the dreaded red ABC warning and the suspension stopped working. It wasn't getting up to pressure, checked the fluid and it was low. Topped it up yesterday and the errors went away and the suspension would raise again using the button, checked the level this morning and its the same. Whats weird though is when the engine is off the fluid is at the right point on the dipstick, when it's running its showing way too low.

So long story short it needs to go somewhere to get looked at in the next couple of weeks
