Mercedes struggle to produce enough EQC models

According to this report Mercedes may struggle to produce their quota* of EV this year due to a lack of battery packs. There doesn't appear to be a problem with actual cell production [ made by LG] but more about how these cells are built into battery pack arrays.

Carmakers face huge fines next year if they fail to cut their fleet emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2).
Daimler had average fleet emissions of 130.4 grams of CO2 per kilometer in 2018 and needs to hit a target of 103.1 grams per km by 2021. If Daimler fails to cut its CO2 footprint, it faces a fine of 997 million euros ($1.1 billion) PA Consulting said in a report published this month.

But the common consensus is that Tesla will evaporate when the 'big boys' (eg MB) get stuck in.
Can't see this fawning over all things German and disparagement of all things American lasting very much longer.
