Rather interesting website this, with mostly Sales info - 2015 Germany: Most-Frequently Stolen Car Brands and Models - though nothing about the UK or the numbers for 2016. No reference docs linked there and the German insurance org GDV English page didn't return any useful results. Still, this guy Henk Bekker, has been consistent over the years with content and format, which is a good sign, but doesn't prove a thing
