Mercedes Viano front wheel bearing

Hi , I have a Mercedes Viano W639 , I need one of my front wheel bearings changing but it’s a specialist job which need a hydraulic extractor to remove and fit the new bearing , nobody out there will take on the job because of the kit needed, maybe it’s a main dealer job ? Up to 22 tons to remove the bearing so they say

Certainly expensive at a main dealer. Had our Viano serviced and repaired by them since new but finally got fed up with the charges and attitude. Just had some repair work done by Eden Tyre Services they have all the kit plus diagnostic and half the price. That ended our going to a main Mercedes dealer.

I never let anything beat me I couldn’t find anyone to replace the front bearing in my Mercedes Viano so being an engineer I did it myself, hers how. I bought a second hand hub with bearing, at work I cut the wheel flange off the bearing so I could turn it upside down and press out the old bearing using a 50 ton hydraulic press, it took 14 tons to push the old bearing out, pressing the new bearing in was difficult because you can’t press on the hub the bearing will be damaged so I made a jig so I was pushing the bearing in on the outer race this took 4 tons to push it in, I have attached pictures.
